Dear Member,Support for the Society of Radiology Physician Extenders (SRPE) is not only appreciated but necessary in this environment of legislative uncertainty. The SRPE board and its members-at-large are dedicated to continuing advocacy on behalf of the Radiologist Assistant and Radiology Practitioner Assistant. The SRPE is known across the radiology community as the voice for the radiology extender. Without your support, through membership, we would have to rely only on individual efforts and outside organization trust to gain a foothold in the ever-changing mid-level landscape. As President, I will continue to advocate for you individually and push for federal recognition for the community as a whole. In recent years, we have gained partial recognition through the Veterans Administration and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in the form of a final rule. It’s not done yet, and without full federal recognition through the Medicare Access to Radiology Care Act, we cannot be legitimized as the fully trained and dedicated radiology midlevel.
