The SRPE was impressed by the remarkable student applications for its scholarship to attend the upcoming conference. Although we would have preferred to reward all applicants, unfortunately, only two could be selected. Finally, Isabel Flores from Loma Linda University and Andrew Ogden from the University of North Carolina—Chapel Hill were chosen as the first SRPE scholarship recipients, facilitating their attendance at the conference. House Bill 571, the Radiologist Assistant Act, was introduced in the Georgia General Assembly on February 24th. This Bill will provide RA licensure, set an advisory board, and determine rules under the Georgia Composite Medical Board for the RA certified by the ARRT or the CBRPA. Assemblyman Chen introduced AB 511 in California. This Bill defines the RA as an ARRT or CBRPA-certified technologist and describes their role in health care in California's Health and Safety Code.
