Louisiana Makes Number 37!

Louisiana is the 37th state to recognize Radiologist Assistants (RAs)!

On June 23, 2026, the state of Louisiana formally recognized radiologist assistants.

Louisiana House Bill No. 949 (officially amending R.S. 37:3200-3219) passed both chambers of the Louisiana Legislature unanimously and is scheduled to become effective on August 1, 2026.

Thank you to the bill’s sponsor (Kimberly Coates), the ARRT, the ASRT, the Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners, the Louisiana Society of Radiologic Technologists, and every advocate who made this happen.
