House Bill 571, the Radiologist Assistant Act, was introduced in the Georgia General Assembly on February 24th. This Bill will provide RA licensure, set an advisory board, and determine rules under the Georgia Composite Medical Board for the RA certified by the ARRT or the CBRPA. Assemblyman Chen introduced AB 511 in California. This Bill defines the RA as an ARRT or CBRPA-certified technologist and describes their role in health care in California's Health and Safety Code. The SRPE actively works with the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) to support the licensure of not only the RA (RRA and RPA) but ALL medical imaging and therapy professionals. In New Hampshire, SRPE opposed House Bill 1410, a bill that sought to amend and repeal licensure laws across many professions, including licensure for medical imaging and radiation therapy.
